First introduced in 1977, the Slim-Fast Plan has evolved through the years to its current 3-2-1 diet plan which came out in 2009. Originally Slim-Fast just offered shakes as meal replacements but now offers meal and snack bars in addition to the shakes.

By substituting meals and some snacks with calorie-controlled Slim-Fast products, this diet plan will help cut your calorie intake and in turn help you to lose weight.

How Do I Follow It?

While on the Slim-Fast 3-2-1 diet plan you will be eating six times a day. The plan is broken down so that you consume three snacks per day such as Slim-Fast 100-calorie snack bars, nuts, fruits or veggies, two meal replacements either a meal bar or shake, and one 500-calorie meal.

Snacking is an important part of the Slim-Fast Plan. Suggested fruits and vegetables include:

  • apples
  • bananas
  • cantaloupe
  • oranges
  • pears
  • bell peppers
  • broccoli
  • carrots
  • celery

Nuts choices can come from almonds, cashews, peanuts, pistachios or walnuts. The Slim-Fast 100-calorie snack bars have a variety of flavors such as Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Nougat Gone Nuts, Chocolately Vanilla Blitz, Double-Dutch Chocolate, and Peanut Butter Crunch Time.

The Slim-Fast shakes and meal bars provide two meals and provide at least 20 percent of your recommended daily intake for most essential vitamins and minerals and five grams of dietary fiber per serving. These products are consumed for breakfast and lunch.

The meal bars has many flavors including Chewy Chocolate Crisp, Chocolate Cookie Dough, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Chocolate Peanut Caramel, Fruit & Yogurt Trail Mix, and Sweet & Salty Chocolate Almond. The Slim-Fast Shakes also come in a variety of flavors like Cappuccino Delight, French Vanilla, Creamy Milk Chocolate, Rich Chocolate Royale, Strawberries ‘n Cream along with lower carb versions of French Vanilla and Creamy Chocolate.
